What is SAP?

The Student Assistance Program (SAP) is comprised of trained school professionals (counselors, teachers, administrators, mental health experts) who receive referrals from teachers, parents, students, and other school staff.  This team works closely with outside agencies to offer support services to students experiencing academic, behavioral, and/or emotional difficulties that may pose barriers to school success.

Students are referred to the SAP program by teachers, staff members or parents. After the team reviews the referral they will make appropriate recommendations to teachers and parents. Students who participate in the SAP program will also be assigned a staff member as a mentor. The mentor will personally connect with the student weekly to offer support and aid in promoting student success.

Students in the SAP program also have access to initial assessments from the mental health liaison, referrals to other agencies and resources, the opportunity to participate in small group experiences and consultations with teachers.
If you feel your child may need additional assistance please contact our school office at 724-727-3421.
